Homer is changing. Guiding Growth is a conversation series developed by community members to create a toolbox for guiding growth in our home. Through civic discourse, good conversation, and relevant resources, the group’s purpose is to empower participation in the vision of how the Homer community develops.

Vision

Through community conversations that provide information about development challenges and opportunities:

Expand knowledge of current laws and regulations, including who has authority over resources and how individuals can influence or advocate.
Expand knowledge of what is driving changes here.
Learn how other places are managing growth to preserve valued resources.
Expand knowledge of natural systems, social systems and economic systems.
Provide information about civic opportunities for individuals to share their perspectives with lawmakers and/or other authorities.
Build skills on how to navigate conflicting perspectives.
